ABOUT

ACCOMMODATION

Lakes Boathouse is suitable for four people and consists of two bedrooms, one with king size bed and one with twin beds, two en-suite shower rooms, a spacious living room with open plan kitchen and dining, and a laundry/drying room. Lakes Boathouse has an American lodge atmosphere, furnished with antique oak furniture, and a log fire that gives a cosy, warm feel during the winter months. All the rooms have views of Lake Windermere and the fells beyond.

WALKING AND ACTIVITIES

There are many walking opportunities from the property, by the lakeshore both in a south and northerly direction, or from Sawrey to Moss Eccles Tarn, and onto Claife Heights. A short drive away there are stunning walks too numerous to list, but details and maps are listed in tourist guide books. The villages nearby are Hawkshead, Coniston and of course Ambleside. Bowness and Windermere are just across the Lake via the Ferry, which is just a short drive away, or a 30-minute drive either via Ambleside or Newby Bridge. For garden lovers, the Lake District National Park has numerous country houses and magnificent gardens to visit, and as you can imagine the scenery everywhere is stunning and breathtakingly beautiful.

EATING OUT

There are several pubs nearby, including the Cuckoo Brow Inn at Far Sawrey which is an easy walk from Lakes Boathouse, The Tower Bank Arms at Near
Sawrey, and the famous Drunken Duck at Barngates, all serving local Ales and locally sourced Cumbrian food. In addition, The Lakeside Hotel and The Swan
at Newby Bridge, are a fifteen-minute drive. Further afield, but no more than a 40-minute drive are numerous Michelin Starred restaurants.
